'No Current Advisories'!! Please Check Back
August 24, 2007 The drought watch is still in effectWe need significant rainfall for the next 90days followed by above average snowfalls to bring groundwater levels back to normal.Even rainfall from a hurricane will not be enough to recharge the ground water. We may not see groundwater levels return until what is known as the January thaw.Richfield’s water use is averaging 48,000 gallons per day and that is a pretty good number.Do be careful with outside burning. It would only take a short period without rainfall to put us in wildfire danger. Please talk about this in the community. If you get an opportunity, check the mountain streams. This is a great time of the year to go for walks.Alvin

We are currently in a drought watch for all of Pennsylvania. In the past ninety days we are about 6inches short of rainfall.
As per DEP this calls for a 5% reduction in use by “VOLUNTARY” conservation. A drought warning would be asking for a “VOLUNTARY”15% reduction
During Dutch Days week we used around 53,000 to 58,000 gallons a day. The week after we used 47,000gallons a day. We are now using 50,000 to 53,000 GPD.,47,000 to 48,000 GPD would really be a good usage for this time of the year. Some thoughts:
Thank You, Alvin
